When I first saw this skirt online I was immediately apprehensive about the silhouette flattering my figure. But, always having a weakness for all things blue, I decided to give it a try during one of JCrew’s many sales. I was pleasantly surprised by how great I felt and how great I felt I looked in the skirt. The higher waist helps to accentuate my curves by cutting me at my waist (my smallest area) instead of across my hips (a considerably wider area). ?
The skirt is a bit reminisent of a school girl’s skirt and so it tends to make me want to play up my nerdy nature. If you talked to the boys I used to work with in my IT days, they can attest to the fact that if I am ever near a bookstore I have to get a new book or three. I’ve always been a bit of a kooky nerd, going all the way back to high school (A/V and drama nerd!) and probably even further than that. So if I’m rocking my glasses, I’ll balance that facial hardware with a bright lip. Throw in a book clutch (I’m seriously starting a book clutch anthology) and a metallic flat and I’m up for anything from a Star Wars Marathon (the original 3) to a brunch at the newest & hottest breakfast locale.
Live long and prosper!
