Years ago, me and my gal pals took a trip to Vegas where we quickly learned that we are just not Vegas-type girls (our mid-thigh hemlines were far too prudish). But what we remember the most from our trip, was the amazing food venues we experienced. Aja (pronounced like “Asia”) is like a slice of Vegas in Atlanta. The food is some of the best Asian cuisine in the city with a cool crowd vibe to it’s surroundings. My company loves to take visiting clients and co-workers to Aja to both impress and treat people with their deadly cocktails and beautifully delicious food. Aja doesn’t cater to any specific style of Aja Menu so it’s a really great place to get adventurous while still enjoying some of your favorite staples.
The Journey Begins: Cocktails & Vietnamese Spring Rolls
I have my tried and true staples when it comes to Aja’s small plates. Pork pot stickers and chicken satay are my go tos. If you’re looking for a good cocktail +appetizer pairing, try a French 75 with the Vietnamese Spring Rolls. Both items are crisp and light on the palate. The perfect way to start a meal or to make as your meal for the evening.
Adventures in the Orient: Mongolian Beef Stir Fry
Aja has many different fried rice, noodle, and stir fry bowls on their menu. I work with a lot of vegetarians, and they swear by this side of the menu. Not being a vegetarian myself, the mongolian beef stir fry is simply amazing. The steak is incredibly flavorful and savory. On my next trip I don’t think I’ll be able to resist the roasted duck and pineapple fried rice.
Rolling in Style: Firecracker Roll
I love a spicy sushi roll. The Firecracker Roll delivers a powerful punch that will linger even after several sips of water. But even with the it’s firepower, the tuna and avocado keep each bite clean and fresh before the spice takes over. It’s a really great, layered flavor profile that lives up to it’s name.
