Last week while I was home for Thanksgiving, recovering both too much turkey and yet not enough midnight turkey sandwiches, I lucked up in getting to hang out with one of my favorite Charlestonians, Josh. I have a tendency to over program myself when I’m home for a few days or, alternatively, sequester myself in Goose Creek so this was a welcome change from my usual existence. I hadn’t gotten to hang with Josh since this shoot and we were long overdue for a catch-up. Luckily for me, he was also up for a little photo shoot action so we decided to skip down to the Folly Beach Pier for some laughs, some photos, and an errant seagull or two.
I hadn’t planned on a seaside photo session when I’d packed my bag for Thanksgiving so the outfit that came together is an amalgamation of all of the things I’ve been living in lately. I wear all of these pieces at least once a week both together and separate. Even though it wasn’t planned, this is an easy outfit to come up with because it’s a riff on all of the basics. Cardigan? Check! Midi skirt? Check! In all honestly, I brought this tee home as a sleep shirt. I had originally bought these little gold slides for traipsing the cobbled streets of Italy, but ever since I got back they’ve really just become my every day shoe (and I do mean EVERYDAY). #cantstopwontstop #noregrets.
Josh and I had a great time, got some great shots (I think), though we do get a few side eyes from from our fellow sea-faring folk especially when Josh was perched on the second tier of the pier with his camera pointed towards a seemingly unaware girl in a cute outfit (me…duh). Even a seagull seemed somewhat bemused by our machinations. Oh well; the life of a blogger.
