There are several places in this world that I hold near and dear. Charleston (well Goose Creek) is where I grew up. Italy is where I found a new appreciation for the world. Clemson has my heart. Atlanta has my future. But Chapin, a small town in South Carolina, has my soul. It’s a perfect little town that, save for a few exceptions, really hasn’t changed at all in the last few decades. It’s what I think of when I think of things like home, family, and peace. My grandparent’s land in Chapin is the epicenter of this little piece of heaven. The smells, the tastes, and the family here are unlike anything I’ve ever known anywhere else. They are simple, yet beautiful in their simplicity. It’s truly one of my favorite places to ever be.
