There’s a new player in town. Their game? Cupcakes. My first visit to Georgetown Cupcakes was actually at the original location in Georgetown. Megan and I waited in line for over an hour and a half just to get our hands on this little confections. We marched our pretty pink box over to the Lincoln Memorial and ate our cupcakes while the sun went down over the National Mall. Yep, we were committed to those cupcakes. Now I can get my Georgetown Cupcakes without a flight to DC and a tempting walk through the shops of Georgetown. Now that’s worth celebrating…maybe with a cupcake or two. 😉
Do What You Do Best: Cupcakes!
I have a confession. I’m not a huge cream cheese frosting fan. I much prefer butter cream frosting. Phew! Feels good to share. Like most cupcake shops of today, Georgetown operates on a rotating and seasonal menu. This way you’ve always got the option to try something new. To wit, I’ve always thought my favorite cupcake was the tried and true Red Velvet. But I think Georgetown may have made me realize that I actually prefer Strawberry cupcakes (with butter cream frosting, obviously). Don’t get me wrong. The Red Velvet is flawless, so is the Cherry Blossom. I have very fond memories of the Key Lime from my DC trip, and I’m looking forward to trying the Earl Grey cupcake. Okay, that’s it. I need a cupcake.
