It’s pretty obvious that I take my weekend brunching pretty seriously. But woman cannot live off of brunch alone. Well I could but my struggle is finding friends who are up for it as much and as varied as I am. On weekends when I don’t brunch my first stop on many Saturday afternoons is Henri’s Bakery. It’s a quaint little bakery/deli in Buckhead that never disappoints with their fresh sandwiches and perfectly baked sweets.
A Baker’s Dozen
It’s tough to walk in to Henri’s, past the rows of glass cases with their cookies and cakes, and not indulge your sweet tooth. I always ask about their macaroon flavors and typically walk away with at least a lemon or two, telling myself they’ll be great palate cleansers later. But the Petit Fours are their real triumph. No engagement, wedding, or baby shower is complete without these little squares of heaven. I personally prefer the white over the chocolate, but feel free to taste at least 4 to make your own decision. Good luck stopping at just that many. 😉
The Sandwich Bar
The deli at Henri’s has an incredibly wide array of bread and meat choices to make your sandwich perfect. Po’boys, classic meet and cheeses on rye, or go crazy with croissants! I always come back for the chicken salad sandwich on white. Henri’s has the best chicken salad in the city. It’s the perfect ratio of chicken and mayo, but the sweet peppers mixed in make it different from every other offering out there. I add a touch of mustard and am in absolute heaven for the rest of the afternoon.
