Sprinkles Cupcakes Atlanta is the most recent, and probably most well known addition to the cupcake world of Atlanta. Operating out of Lenox Mall in Buckhead, it’s quickly becoming my favorite weekend treat. All cupcakes are made fresh throughout the day, and because of their daily rotation of flavors, you never really know what you’ll find (unless you have a take-home schedule on your fridge like me).
Sprinkles’ Red Velvet Cupcake
The red velvet cupcake is a storied and traditional staple in the south. There’s only one way to make a red velvet cupcake, and that’s perfectly. No excuses. I’ve had numerous attempts at numerous other locations in the city, but Sprinkles does it right. The icing is what really takes the cake (sorry, couldn’t resist at least one pun). Whereas most bakers go for icing that is just entirely too sugary and overpowering, Sprinkles goes for an icing that is simple and perfectly accents the cupcake itself. Not too sweet, but not bland either. A perfect combination.

Sprinkles’ Red Velvet Ice Cream
For me, the red velvet ice cream is the real draw for Sprinkles. It’s the best of both worlds with pieces of the divine cupcake actually in the ice cream! Add a couple of scoops onto a red velvet waffle cone and dunk it in some sprinkles (because, obviously) and you’ve got one happy camper. Now obviously this isn’t an item that will fit easily into really any diet plan, but is the perfect splurge item for any cheat day you may have coming up.

THE Cupcake ATM
The Cupcake ATM is a thing of beauty. Now I don’t want to oversell this, so I’ll just simply say “It’s the greatest invention in the history of the world”. Basically it gives the residents of Atlanta 24/7 access to the cupcakes of their dreams. Stocked twice a day, every day to ensure that all cupcakes are kept fresh and delicious, and delivered in Sprinkles’ cute individual boxes, the cupcake ATM is the answer for any late night sweet tooth.
