A new city, a new look. Jackson was a blast, surprisingly so. And I wanted to end this trip on a fun note by going outside my comfort zone and putting together a look that was far more 70’s bohemian than my usual classic pieces in high-saturated colors. The outfit came about when I randomly came across this maxi dress when I walked by my neighborhood Free People store. It just looked so warm and comfy, almost like wearable pajamas. The fit was super flattering for my curves so I figured why not see what I could make of it. Since I wanted something cozy, a scoured the interwebs for some sort of inexpensive shearling coat to top it with. Forever 21 had this vest in a couple of colors and I almost went with the pink (shocking) but since I knew I’d be wearing a pink fedora, it seemed like pink overkill (perish the thought!). Even though this vest is inexpensive it is surprisingly warm. I’ve even taken into work with me a few times to burrow down into while I’m at my desk. I know this outfit came out a little more Mama-Cass-Goes-to-Woodstock than originally intended. But I was warm, and I was cozy, so I win.
