With Valentine’s looming this weekend, my friend Megan hosts an annual V-Day Pre-Game where everyone make fun little treats and dishes to celebrate Valentines Day. I made a bit of a decadent treat this year. Originally I was going to make this recipe, but during my trip to the grocery store, the peeps that inhabit my city had somehow already absconded with ALL of the mascarpone in the store… That’s quite an elevated palate Publix shoppers seem to have. So I improvised and created a creamy dollop of goodness using cream cheese, condensed milk, and heavy whipping cream alla this recipe. And luckily, this is a quick and easy dish so I was able to whip this up really quick after work before heading over for some pink and heart themed festivities.
Deviled Strawberries
Ingredients:
1 lbs. Strawberries, rinsed and halved lengthwise
Hard Shell Chocolate Syrup
8 oz. Soft Cream Cheese
7 oz. Sweetened Condensed Milk
1 cup Heavy Whipping Cream
1 tsp. Cardamom
1 tsp. Vanilla Extract
Cinnamon, for sprinkling
Directions:
1. Using a melon baller or pairing knife, scoop out a small part of the middle of each strawberry half, being careful not to cut to deep
2. Drizzle each strawberry with the chocolate syrup, let sit until chocolate has fully hardened
3. In a medium bowl, whip the cream cheese, condensed milk, whipping cream, cardamom, and vanilla extract together until stiff
4. Using a small spoon or ziploc bag, scoop or fill each strawberry center with a dollop of the cream mixture
5. Sprinkle each strawberry with cinnamon and serve
